Oxfam is a confederation of charitable organisations led by Oxfam International focusing on empowering people towards a world without poverty. The organisation has local project partners helping to build local skills and experience to support communities, campaigning allies to boost the campaigning issues, corporate partners encouraging donating and fundraising, institute and governments providing funding, and suppliers supporting campaigning building.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be training and helping students to get resources to campaign on Climate Change, the Refugee Crisis, the conflict in Yemen, and the People’s Vaccine. As Student Activist/Campaigner, you will develop effective advocacy techniques, amplifying your ability to raise awareness and incite change on critical global issues, while collaborating with like-minded individuals. 

Typical duties include:

  • Training and guiding students in acquiring the necessary resources and skills to effectively campaign on pressing global issues
  • Providing hands-on assistance to students engaged in campaigns
  •  Contributing to the development of compelling campaign materials
  • Engaging in policy advocacy initiatives 

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
