Summary

Elaine joined Brunel in September 2021.

Elaine obtained her BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy in 2010 from University College Cork, Ireland.  Since graduating she has worked in a variety of areas of practice: Child and Adolescent Mental Health, School Age Disability Team (Paediatric Occupational Therapy), Adult Mental Health.  She is currently in clinical practice as a Clinical Speciailst Occupational Therapist in Perinatal Mental Health.

Elaine obtained her MSc Occupational Therapy (research) in 2020 from University of Amsterdam where the focus of her research study was to understand Perinatal Occupational Therapists perceptions of occupational therapy assessment and intervention in this practice area.

Elaine's area of expertise is supporting mothers and babies to engage in their co-occupations and understand the effects of birth trauma on participation.
