Summary

Tejas is an artist, ecological thinker and PhD researcher funded by the TECHNE Doctoral Training Parternship. His present research in the Theatre Department at Brunel draws on and intertwines a deepening understanding of the climate crisis, verbatim and documentary theatre practice, social movement theory and psychogeography in an attempt to bare witness to the endeavours of climate activists in time of climate and ecological breakdown.

After graduating from the Theatre and English BA (Hons) degree at Brunel in 2018, with a final research project exploring performance strategies through which the articulate grief and loss, Tejas went on to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to study on the Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy MA programme. At RCSSD, he completed a thesis exploring the prevalance of exclusionary practices in otherwise progressive protest movements. Tejas' autoethnographic approach over the course of this project fundementally shaped his present endeavours and general approach to research.

As an artist, Tejas has worked as a playwright for Voicebox, a theatre critic for both The Stage and Londondance.com. Tejas also maintains his own creative practice as a gardener and grower and regards this as central to his hollistic approach to research.
