Human-Like Computing (Cognitive Computing)

About

Human-Like Computing involves endowing machines with human-like perceptual reasoning and learning abilities in order to cope with surprise and adverse situations. The inexplicable "black box", highly complex, and context-dependent models of deep learning techniques and conventional probability-based approaches, are not always successful in environments like cybersecurity and financial markets which can have severe consequences for incorrect and unexplainable decisions.

Our research group’s expertise combines cognitive science and relational encoding techniques together with explainable AI techniques for the modelling of human cognition processes during critical decision making in complex dynamic situations.
