The APDU facilitates expert support for learning and teaching that provides continuing professional development opportunities and bespoke advice and support to individuals and programme teams on a needs basis, whilst also proactively supporting the University’s learning and teaching priorities. There is a focus on curriculum design as many of the University’s priority areas can only be realised if changes are built into the curriculum. Curriculum design is also key to a coherent, well-structured and well-managed programme, which is fundamental to a good student experience. Some of the themes that will be included in the CPD sessions are, inclusivity and diversity, using technology in teaching, and working with students as partners to name a few.
Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders such as Advance HE and the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) are vital to facilitate and embed shared good practices.
