Mr Kieran O'Shea

Summary

Kieran joined Brunel University London in November 2019. His aim isto develop external collaboration with key stakeholders in the Sustainability, Energy and CleanTech sectors.

He has acquired expertise in a host of commercial and external facing projects between industry and academia; from knowledge exchange activity, consultancy, CPD, sponsored PhDs and collaborative R&D through to obtaining endorsement of degree programmes by national bodies. 

His focus has always been on helping academics and researchers bridge the gap between industry and academia to develop collaborations and secure funding; from initial client engagement through to realisation of the project. 

In April 2019, Kieran completed his Executive MBA with a focus on entrepreneurial environment and entrepreneurial strategies within Universities to realise commercial opportunities. Analysing strategic fit, market evaluation (size, forecasting, competition & hostility) and multiple scenario based cost benefit analyses along with business case modelling. 

Responsibility

Kieran is keen to support Brunel academics and researchers that are addressing the need for climate change through innovative research in the Sustainability, Energy and CleanTech sectors that will also benefit UK industry and economy. And help achieve Brunel’s mission to bring benefit to society through excellence in education, research and knowledge transfer.

Most recently Kieran is supporting the newly established UKRI funded Interdisciplinary Centre for Circular Metals with industry engagement across multiple sectors including transport, construction and packaging.
